Making this post to pin to explain why I don’t like using LGBTQ+ personally so the prior pinned post can retire.
I find queer to be fully reclaimed and far more inclusive than the alphabet soup that is currently the used acronym, not only for all of the community but I’m particular because it’s easier to say than stating I am an asexual/demisexual, romantically attracted to anyone not a cishet man though may be in reality aromantic because I like the idea of romance but I simply do not have the energy or desire to deal with any of it (plus I refuse to share my bed with anyone except my cats unless i have to like in a trip)
I put “don’t call me LGBT” in my bio 1) out of spite for all those who think queer is a slur (as if all of our identities aren’t slurs), and 2) because of the LGB with the TQIA+ assholes.
I want more villains who care about their henchmen. I wanna see the bad guy fly into a rage because the hero hurt their very favorite bungling goon and it was nearly his birthday.
“how dare you fail me you miserable oafs!!” should be retired. “How DARE they bully my adorable oafs!!!” should be industry standard.
Underlings having to hold back their dark lord like an overprotective parent because they don’t really want a famous hero to get outright murdered just on their behalf.

I don’t want to go ‘realism in fiction’ bc we all know how much of a dogwhistle that can be. But it really always bothers me that this isn’t the norm. Like, how the fuck do all these dark lords and evil empresses and what not keep any minions or lieutenants or what not around?
Literally, what is stopping them from just walking to Hero and going ‘I surrender, get me the hell away from this asshole!’ when most Heros will immediately turn them in a redemption story and all.
Like, how they hell do the villains keep anyone working for them without a solid health plan, 401K, and recreational facilities? Isn’t that the minimum. Has no one actually read Machiavelli?
Indeed; one of my least favorite tropes is the whole “I don’t need you anymore” bit, where a villain backstabs a fellow villain working beneath them, which inevitably ends up with the betrayed villain aiding the heroes in order to spite the big bad.
Luckily, I can just draw something that cuts that bullshit out!

If you’re in Australia you’ll already know this, but for our international readers, basically the whole of Australia ground to a halt today because one of our two mobile/internet networks - Optus - just completely shat its dacks for about 9 hours, taking out the country’s phones, internet and banking.
The funniest part though, is that apparently when the national broadcaster tried to reach out to find out what was going on - they discovered the quite forseeable problem that everyone at Optus used Optus for their phone and internet, so there was basically no way for their company to contact anyone inside or outside the company to work out what was going on or to try and fix it.
What a country.

But I really do dislike how much veganism-the-ideology has taken over the discussion on climate change and how to fix our foodways, for reasons that include but are certainly not limited to:
people who believe that farming animals is innately bad and unethical attributing climate change to “animal agriculture” when most of the negative impacts come from beef specifically, which makes the problem seem MUCH less solvable than it actually is.
animal rights activists and organizations have been given a seat at the table discussing how to solve climate change and biodiversity loss, when they include people that believe things like “zoos are inherently bad” “domestication is equivalent to slavery” “it’s never necessary to cull overpopulated species” and “hunting is always bad”
The way we grow plant crops is SO fucked as well—nitrogen fertilizer causes so much pollution, use of pesticides and herbicides is probably the main cause of the decline of insects, we are losing topsoil way way too fast— but we have people naively proclaiming that switching to “plant based diets” is the answer
the way “veganism as Solver Of Human Problems” puts the focus and responsibility entirely on individual choice instead of changing the way food systems work. I’m sorry but people cannot personal-choice their way out of a system that is fucked by design and that they need in order to not starve
the stereotyping of farmers as evil and sadistic people who love to watch animals suffer for a profit. Who benefits
rejecting outright the idea that farming or hunting animals could ever be sustainable or acceptable on any scale when indigenous people worldwide have done it for millennia, animals have been domesticated for 12,000+ years, and not everyone can even survive on a strictly plant based diet
